For a loose brick, a cap or a paver, makers list landscape and construction adhesives. Landscape adhesives take days to cure, and for a shelf or handrail we suggest a masonry anchor.

Brick to metal or wood

When glue isn’t enough
Gorilla says to use mechanical fasteners with its construction adhesives when hanging large objects. For a shelf, a TV or a handrail on brick, we suggest drilling for a masonry anchor.
Liquid Nails’ SDS for LN-905 carries a Danger warning and calls for gloves and eye protection. Read the label of whichever adhesive you use.
Liquid Nails sells LN-905 for repairs to loose stone, brick or block, and Gorilla lists brick for its Landscape adhesive. Gorilla says to give its adhesive 2 to 7 days to fully cure before loading the wall, and Liquid Nails says not to use walls for 16 hours after applying LN-905.
How long before I can walk on glued pavers?
Loctite says to keep foot traffic off pavers glued with PL 500 for 24 to 48 hours, and heavy traffic for about 4 to 5 days.
Can I caulk brick instead?
For gaps and cracks, sealants such as Sashco Big Stretch and Lexel list brick in their data sheets. The caulk finder sorts caulks by place.
The surfaces, cure times and limits come from Gorilla’s, Loctite’s, Liquid Nails’, J-B Weld’s and Sashco’s own pages and data sheets. Checked against published data from Gorilla Glue Company, Henkel, J-B Weld, Pittsburgh Paints Company and Sashco.
