Gorilla Epoxy (two-part epoxy). Apply within 5 minutes of mixing, then clamp 30 minutes. Fills gaps; water resistant, not for constant water.
Gorilla Max Strength Construction Adhesive Clear (construction adhesive). Fully cures within 24 hours. Waterproof, and the surfaces can be wet.
Gorilla Super Glue Gel (super glue). Sets in 10 to 45 seconds. Gorilla rates it for indoor use and not for filling gaps.
Loctite Vinyl, Fabric & Plastic Flexible Adhesive (flexible solvent glue). Cures in 24 hours. Not for heat over 140°F.
Loctite Extreme Glue (hybrid polymer glue). Clamp 30 minutes, full cure in about 24 hours. Water resistant, not for underwater use.
Original Gorilla Glue (polyurethane glue). Clamp 1 to 2 hours; best after 24 hours. Waterproof (ANSI/HPVA Type I), and it expands as it cures.

How hot it gets decides the epoxy
Heat limits, as each maker states them
Epoxy
Heat limit
Loctite Epoxy Instant Mix 5 Minute
Not for heat over 120°F
Gorilla Epoxy
-10 to 180°F
Gorilla Epoxy Ultimate
-40 to 300°F
J-B Weld Original (twin tube)
Up to 550°F once fully cured
A car part near the engine or anything by a stove needs the higher figures. The makers give strength figures too: Gorilla calls Epoxy Ultimate 4250 PSI, and Loctite tests its Instant Mix at 2500 psi on sandblasted steel after a day. Those are lab numbers for the glue, not a weight your repair will hold.
Prep the metal
Sand it. J-B Weld says to rough up both surfaces with light sandpaper. Gorilla gives the same advice for shiny surfaces such as metal, so the glue has something to grip.
Clean it. J-B Weld recommends acetone or lacquer thinner, and warns against alcohol or any cleaner that leaves a petroleum film.
Mix and use it fast. Two-part epoxies start setting as soon as they’re mixed: Gorilla Epoxy has to go on within 5 minutes and Epoxy Ultimate within 3.
Super glue and other glues on metal
Super glues list metal, but for small indoor fixes: Gorilla rates its gel for indoor use and Loctite’s gel data sheet says not for exterior use. Some glues rule out certain metals or jobs. Loctite Power Grab Ultimate excludes copper, brass and bronze, and Loctite Shoe Glue isn’t for joining two non-porous surfaces such as metal to metal.
Safety
Epoxy hardeners can harm eyes and skin. The SDS for Gorilla Epoxy’s hardener warns it causes serious eye damage and can cause an allergic skin reaction, and calls for gloves and eye protection.
Glue isn’t a substitute for bolts or welding. If a metal joint carries weight or a failure could hurt someone, fasten it mechanically.
For small indoor repairs. Gorilla and Loctite super glues list metal, but Gorilla rates its gel for indoor use and Loctite says its gel isn't for exterior jobs or for filling gaps.
Can I glue aluminum?
Yes, with a glue whose maker names it. J-B Weld's FAQ says KwikWeld is not as strong on aluminum as on other metals, while its syringe epoxies list aluminum.
When can I use the part again?
Wait for the full cure. Gorilla Epoxy Ultimate and Loctite Instant Mix take 24 hours. J-B Weld says to give Original at least 15 hours before putting the part back in use.
The heat limits, strengths and prep steps come from Gorilla’s, Loctite’s and J-B Weld’s product pages, data sheets and FAQ, and the finder from each glue maker’s own surface list.
