No wood glue we read lists metal, so wood to metal takes a glue whose maker lists both, most often an epoxy or a construction adhesive. Outdoors, pick one rated for outdoor use.

Two-part epoxy or construction adhesive
23 products have both surfaces on their makers’ lists.
Gorilla Epoxy (two-part epoxy). Apply within 5 minutes of mixing, then clamp 30 minutes. Fills gaps; water resistant, not for constant water.
Gorilla Max Strength Construction Adhesive Clear (construction adhesive). Fully cures within 24 hours. Waterproof, and the surfaces can be wet.
Gorilla Super Glue Gel (super glue). Sets in 10 to 45 seconds. Gorilla rates it for indoor use and not for filling gaps.
Loctite Vinyl, Fabric & Plastic Flexible Adhesive (flexible solvent glue). Cures in 24 hours. Not for heat over 140°F.
Loctite Extreme Glue (hybrid polymer glue). Clamp 30 minutes, full cure in about 24 hours. Water resistant, not for underwater use.
Original Gorilla Glue (polyurethane glue). Clamp 1 to 2 hours; best after 24 hours. Waterproof (ANSI/HPVA Type I), and it expands as it cures.

Outdoor use as each maker states it. “Not stated” means the maker’s page and data sheet don’t say.
Why not wood glue
Titebond’s and Gorilla’s wood glues are made for wood, and none of them lists metal. Titebond adds a warning that matters here: II Premium and III Ultimate have a low pH and may corrode metal surfaces, so it says to test them where rust is a concern.
Prep both sides
The metal: rough it up with light sandpaper, then clean it with acetone or lacquer thinner, as J-B Weld advises.
The wood: clean, dry and free of dust. Original Gorilla Glue is the exception on moisture: dampen one surface, and expect it to expand as it cures.
Clamp it for the time on the label. Original Gorilla Glue asks for 1 to 2 hours.
Gorilla says construction adhesive adds hold but doesn’t replace screws or nails on structural parts. Fasten anything that carries weight.
Not for the metal side. Neither Titebond nor Gorilla lists metal for its wood glues, and Titebond says II and III may corrode metal.
Which ones are for outdoors?
Pick one whose maker rates it for outdoor use. In the table, those include Gorilla Epoxy, Gorilla Construction Adhesive Ultimate and Loctite PL Premium.
Does super glue work for wood to metal?
For small indoor fixes. Gorilla's and Loctite's super glue gels list both, but neither is rated for outdoor use.
The glues that list both surfaces come from each maker’s own surface list, and the prep and limits from Titebond’s, Gorilla’s and J-B Weld’s pages and data sheets. Checked against published data from Gorilla Glue Company, Henkel, J-B Weld, Franklin International and Eclectic Products (plus 1 more).
