No. Command’s FAQ says its products are not recommended for wallpaper, and its picture strip, hook and bath instructions say not to hang on wallpaper. The other makers’ mounting tapes and putties below rule it out too, Gorilla’s putty for flocked wallpaper only.
Where Command says it
- FAQ: “Command™ Products are not recommended for wallpaper, brick, or rough concrete. Use only products that list your surface on the package.”
- How-to pages: the picture hanging strip, picture hanger and indoor and outdoor hook pages list “DO NOT hang over beds or on wallpaper” among the tips to follow first. The Bathroom Solutions page lists wallpaper among the surfaces not to use.
- Instruction sheets: the Bath Large White Hook, Shower Caddy and Outdoor Stainless Steel Wire Hooks sheets carry the caution “Do not hang over beds or on wallpaper.”
- Surface chart: wallpaper is in the no row, with textured walls, brick and fabric.

From each product’s own page or data sheet. Gorilla’s putty page names flocked wallpaper only, and lists painted walls among the surfaces it’s great for.
Command’s instructions also say not to hang valuable or irreplaceable items. For a mirror or frame on a wallpapered wall, we’d use a picture hook or a screw and anchor: see choosing a wall anchor on our drill bit site.
