For PVC trim and boards, Loctite’s guide pairs a construction adhesive on the back with PVC cement in the joints, plus fasteners. For hard PVC parts, several epoxies and super glues name PVC.

Two-part epoxy or super glue
15 products have both surfaces on their makers’ lists.
Gorilla Epoxy (two-part epoxy). Apply within 5 minutes of mixing, then clamp 30 minutes. Fills gaps; water resistant, not for constant water.
Loctite Super Glue Gel Control (super glue). Sets in 15 to 30 seconds, cures in 12 to 24 hours. Not for exterior use.
Loctite PL Premium Construction Adhesive (construction adhesive). Cures in 24 to 48 hours; support the work for the first 24. Goes on wet or frozen surfaces.
Loctite Extreme Glue (hybrid polymer glue). Clamp 30 minutes, full cure in about 24 hours. Water resistant, not for underwater use.
Gorilla Clear Grip (contact adhesive). Let it dry about 2 minutes before joining; full cure takes at least 24 hours. Waterproof. Gorilla labels it flammable.
Gorilla Fabric Glue (fabric glue). Full cure in 24 hours; wait 3 days before washing or ironing.
9 more products list both.
Only the glues whose makers name PVC show here; more list hard plastic in general. Loctite’s PL Premium lists rigid and cellular PVC trim but not flexible vinyl, and for PVC to PVC Loctite suggests a PVC cement.

PVC trim and boards
Loctite’s PVC guide splits the job in two. PVC to PVC takes a glue or cement made for PVC, such as PVC pipe cement. A PVC board going onto wood or another material takes a strong construction adhesive on the back, PVC cement in the joint, and then screws, nails or clamps while it dries. Loctite PL Premium lists rigid and cellular PVC trim and molding, but not flexible vinyl.
AZEK, which makes cellular PVC trim, asks for adhesive on every AZEK-to-AZEK joint and recommends its own cellular PVC cement. It calls for stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized fasteners within 2 inches of each end and every 16 inches or less.
Hard PVC parts
Gorilla says Gorilla Epoxy works well on PVC sheets but isn’t recommended for PVC pipe.
Loctite Epoxy Plastic lists PVC, and Loctite Extreme Glue and Metal Glue list rigid PVC.
J-B Weld lists most rigid plastics, PVC and CPVC, for its Original and KwikWeld epoxies.
Loctite’s guide says to wear gloves and goggles for PVC cement and adhesive work, and to keep the space well ventilated.
Loctite suggests a strong construction adhesive for PVC boards to wood. PL Premium lists both PVC trim and wood. Fasten or clamp the board while it dries.
Does Gorilla Glue work on PVC?
Gorilla lists PVC for Gorilla Epoxy (sheets, not pipe), Epoxy Ultimate and Clear Grip. Original Gorilla Glue's page doesn't name PVC.
Can I use PVC pipe cement on PVC trim?
Loctite names PVC pipe cement as one option for PVC to PVC. AZEK recommends its own cellular PVC cement for AZEK trim joints.
The glues come from each maker’s page, data sheet or FAQ, the board steps from Loctite’s PVC guide, and the trim rules from AZEK’s data sheet. Checked against published data from Henkel, J-B Weld, Gorilla Glue Company, Pittsburgh Paints Company and AZEK and Vinyl Siding Institute.
